Chocolate Raspberry Poppers

Sweet and tart raspberries combine with creamy chocolate to create a heavenly flavor burst you will just love. These sweet treats are both mommy and kid-approved!

This is one of those ideas for snacks that I can have the kids help me create and have on hand for any time they have a craving for a sweet treat.  Raspberries are so delicious and full of health benefits, I would much rather they reach for this treat than traditional candy.

What are the benefits of raspberries?

Did you know that this little red fruit is one of the richest in antioxidant fruits you can eat?  There are so many benefits of raspberries!  For such a small item, they pack a ton of fiber, minerals, vitamins, and general nutrients that you need. The sweet and tart combination makes them popular with the kids who prefer a tart or sour candy.

One cup of just raspberries is just 65 calories!  In one single serving, you also get over 50% of your daily vitamin C and 1.5 grams of protein.  What a great satisfying snack that is low in calories and full of flavor!  If you haven’t already, you definitely need to add these to your shopping list today!

Variations and Make-Ahead Tip

Mix and match with different types of chips for different flavors.  I have used white chocolate and semi-sweet morsels here, but you could also add in dark chocolate or a caramel or butterscotch chip.

If you prefer, you can even melt the chocolate and dip your raspberries in the chocolate for bite-sized chocolate-covered fruit treat.  Just lay them on waxed paper until the chocolate hardens.

Make-Ahead Tip:  Buy raspberries when in season and create these chocolate raspberry poppers for the future by freezing them.  Just put the chips in washed and dried raspberries, then bag them in portions and freeze in a labeled and dated freezer bag.  They make the perfect cold pack to go inside a lunch box, and they thaw to create a yummy snack!
