Baby carrots are one of the cheapest and easiest vegetable side dishes to make. Since I have these ingredients on hand all the time, I know I can make this fast and easily. A bonus of this recipe is that I know kids will eat it without fuss. Sure, any parent wants their kids to eat more green vegetables, but any vegetable is better than no vegetable.
Healthy broccoli salad is another great vegetable side dish that kids love. With the addition of bacon, it is one of those options everyone enjoys. So, you want to check it out too and see how your family likes it as a healthier vegetable.
What Should I Serve Candied Carrots With?
I truly believe this candied carrots recipe works great with anything, but there are a few meals that it pairs with better. This baked chicken strips recipe is a great option. Especially if you serve with the honey mustard sauce. Another favorite is my balsamic chicken. It already has roasted vegetables on the side, but you can dress it up with this recipe.
Kids will love this alongside this barbecue ranch baked chicken recipe, or even my healthier crispy fried chicken. The possibilities are of course, endless, but I love how it pairs with sweet and spicy foods best.
Can I use regular carrots for this recipe?
Of course, you can! I always have baby carrots on hand, but regular carrots are just as good. The only difference is their size and the fact that you may need to peel them before you bake them. Peeling carrots is a great beginning kitchen task for your kids. A vegetable peeler is safe, and they will have fun helping you in the kitchen!
